SYNQ
Founder Story · Operating Principles

We’re Not Consultants.
We Ran the 6am Shift.

SYNQ was born out of a simple observation on the gym floor: people don’t leave places; they leave people. Somewhere over the last decade, boutique fitness, health clubs, and private members’ houses traded human belonging for transactional automation.

“Nobody churns because of your timetable. They churn because their one friend left and nobody noticed.”

15 Years on the Floor

SYNQ was founded by Tom Weston. Before writing a single line of graph code, Tom spent over 15 years in high-performance sports coaching, luxury hospitality, and club operations — including coaching at Equinox Kensington and managing private training ecosystems across London, Dubai, and Thailand.

Holding a BSc in Sports & Coaching Science, Tom experienced first-hand the daily reality of early-morning rosters, member relationship dynamics, and the quiet signs of withdrawal that every veteran coach feels before a member formally cancels their direct debit.

Experience Profile

Tom Weston · Founder & Forward-Deployed Engineer

Background: 15+ years in elite fitness, private client management, and premium club operations (Equinox Kensington, UHNW private coaching).

Education: BSc in Sports & Coaching Science.

Role at SYNQ: Architect of the Universal Graph Engine and Forward-Deployed Engineering audit protocols for multi-site operators.

Why We Built the Anti-Dashboard

The wellness technology sector is flooded with member-facing apps, push-notification drips, and gamified loyalty schemes that members delete after three weeks. Meanwhile, general managers are drowning in vanity dashboards that measure footfall after the member has already emotionally disconnected.

We built SYNQ to act as the guardian of the room. By reading the mathematical adjacency of existing booking data, SYNQ detects weak-tie isolation and partner contagion in real time — without asking members to download an app or front-desk staff to learn another CRM.

The Four Operating Principles

RULE 01
“We’re not consultants. We ran the 6am shift.”
RULE 02
“Nobody’s churning because of your timetable. They’re churning because their one friend left and nobody noticed.”
RULE 03
“Communities were never engineered. They were tended — like anything with roots.”
RULE 04
“The last thing your room needs is more software. So we built the engine that protects it from software.”

Company & Governance

SYNQ is operated by SYNQ Intelligence Ltd, a private limited company registered in England & Wales (Company №16893187). We operate with strict zero-PII data handling, client-side SHA-256 pseudonymization, and UK/EU GDPR compliance across all enterprise client environments.
